Dear GPI Network Members,
Firstly, a belated happy new year to you. I am delayed in sending this message to welcome you to 2025 and setting out GPI Network priorities for this year, as we were busy in January appointing an interim Executive Director to lead the Network for the next six months.
I would like to welcome, Harpinder (Pin) Collacott into this role. As you all know, Pin, has been involved in the GPI Network from the beginning, first as a co-chair and more recently as a Steering Committee member. She has now resigned from the Steering Committee to take on the interim Executive Director role so she can see us through a transition phase, aligning the Network’s 2025 priorities to the new strategy which was approved at the end of 2024. Pin will work closely with the Secretariat team, Wanjiru and Alan to operationalise the new strategy, lead our fundraising and support our external engagement and campaigns to influence key moments in 2025, specifically the Financing for Development Forum in Seville in July and the G20 in South Africa later this year.
I am delighted to have Pin take on this position to support the team to deliver our ambitions at a critical time.
Pin said, “2025 has already started off as a year which will throw a lot of change and upheaval at us. We need to be ready to present GPI as a practical and tested model whose time has come. GPI offers a new model for public financing to address the 21st century challenges and I am looking forward to working with the Network members, the Steering Committee and Secretariat to make this happen.”
We would also like to share with you the new strategy which was approved in December 2024. Wanjiru has reached out and spoken to many of you already to present it and get your feedback. At the next member’s meeting we will share it and present the 2025 objectives too for your feedback.
We are also launching a member’s campaign in the first quarter of 2025 and would like to use our February meeting to get your engagement, ideas and insights to shape it. This meeting will be scheduled for the early part of week beginning 24th February. Please join us, your ideas and input will be essential to shape it.
I am looking forward to taking GPI forward in partnership with you all in 2025.
